Description

The Science Challenge: Breaking Boundaries is a core Unit. The Challenge aims to expose students to scientific research and thinking within interdisciplinary (relating to one or more branch of knowledge) teams by exploring some of the major scientific questions of our time. Students will work in teams formed by clustering 2 or 3 departments of non-allied disciplines together where possible. Effective communication skills are developed through discussion within teams and via facilitated debate. Students are allocated to small teams and given an opportunity to choose their project topic. Students will be provided with inspirational talks to set their topic in context, opportunities for skills training and sessions to support their independent study.
